Employment Details and pay
How this worker is engaged, and what they are paid. It holds Employee Number, Role, Employment Type, Job Title, Manager, Start Date, End Date, Pay Group (SCHADS Award), SCHADS Level and Hourly Rate — and it is the single panel most responsible for a pay run coming out wrong, because a worker with no pay group is paid nothing and nothing else warns you.
Step by step
- 1
Open the worker and find the Employment Details panel on the Overview tab.

- 2
Click Edit.
- 3
Set the Employment Type — full time, part time, casual or contractor. It decides which pay rules apply to every shift they work.
- 4
Set the Pay Group (SCHADS Award). This is the one that matters: it carries the SCHADS Level and the rates.
- 5
Or set an Hourly Rate directly if this worker is paid something other than the award.
- 6
Fill in Employee Number, Job Title, Manager and Start Date so payroll and reports have what they need.
- 7
Set an End Date only when the engagement is genuinely fixed — an end date in the past stops them being rostered.
- 8
Save. With a pay group set, the panel shows Effective Hourly Rates for their employment type — the resolved rate for each day type, so you can see what a weekday, a Saturday, a Sunday and a public holiday actually cost before anyone works one.
