Pay Contractors
/financials/pay-contractors8 stepsWhere contractors are paid. Contractors work to a flat rate card, not the SCHADS award, so their approved shifts become a contractor invoice here. You approve it and pay it by bank file with an emailed remittance, separately from payroll.
Step by step

Review contractor hours on Timesheets first. Only a contractor's approved shifts that are not already on an invoice can be pulled into a contractor invoice.

Under Generate an invoice from approved shifts, choose the Contractor, check Period start and Period end, and click Generate invoice. The period starts as the last completed fortnight.

Click Open on the new invoice to check its lines. Hours are priced at the contractor's pay rate, with travel, expenses and sleepovers added as separate lines.

Check the GST. You can change it with Update GST while the invoice is Draft or Submitted, and edit the Invoice number and Notes until it is paid.

Click Approve when the invoice is right, or Reject if it is not. Un-approve moves an approved invoice back to draft if something needs changing.

Before the first payment, click Payment settings and enter your APCA / Direct Entry user ID, Trace BSB and Trace account, then click Save payment settings.

Tick the approved invoices and click the Pay selected button, or use Pay by ABA on a single invoice. Rostery downloads an ABA file and emails each contractor a remittance.

Upload the ABA file to your online banking to send the money. The invoices are marked Paid, and any contractor without bank details is skipped.
