Cancel a shift
Cancelling keeps the shift and records why it did not happen, which is what the cancellation policy needs. It is not the same as deleting: a cancelled shift may still be charged to the participant and still paid to the worker, and that is usually correct.
Step by step
- 1
Open the shift.
- 2
Click Cancel Shift.

- 3
Pick the cancellation policy. It decides whether the participant is still charged and whether the worker is still paid — short notice usually means both.
- 4
Pick a reason, and add a note if the reason needs explaining.
- 5
Confirm. The card now shows CANCELLED and stays on the board.
- 6
The shift still appears in reports and, depending on the policy, still reaches the invoice and the pay run.
