How do I…?

Add a shift

Scheduler11 steps

Putting one shift on the roster, start to finish.

Do this

  1. 1

Click Scheduler in the left menu.

  2. 2

Find the day you want. Use the arrows at the top to move between weeks.

    Add a shift, step 2
  3. 3

Click on an empty box in the row for the worker or the participant. A new shift form opens. (You can also click the New Shift button at the top.)

    Add a shift, step 3
  4. 4

Pick the participant from the Client box. Start typing their name and the list will narrow.

    Add a shift, step 4
  5. 5

Pick the service. This is what you are delivering — personal care, community access, and so on. The price comes from this, so pick the right one.

    Add a shift, step 5
  6. 6

Set the date, the start time and the end time.

    Add a shift, step 6
  7. 7

Pick the shift type if it is not a normal one: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Full Day or Sleepover.

  8. 8

Pick the worker in the Staff box. If you are not sure who, leave it empty for now and fill it later.

    Add a shift, step 8
  9. 9

Look at the rates that appeared. The charge rate and the pay rate fill in by themselves. If either says $0, stop and fix it before saving — a $0 rate means nobody gets billed and nobody gets paid.

    Add a shift, step 9
  10. 10

    Click Save.

  11. 11

The shift is now on the board as a Draft. The worker cannot see it yet.
