What it does
Everything an NDIS provider runs on, in one place
Each part feeds the next: a rostered shift becomes a timesheet, the timesheet becomes pay and an invoice, and the invoice becomes a claim. Nothing is typed twice.

What NDIS software should do for a provider
Most NDIS providers start with a spreadsheet roster, a timesheet app and an accounting package, then spend hours each week moving numbers between them. NDIS software earns its price when the same record carries a support from the roster to the claim. These are the jobs to check any product against.
| Job | What to look for | In Rostery |
|---|---|---|
| Rostering | Availability, clashes, open shifts, credential checks before a worker is booked | Visual scheduler, job board, lapsed credentials block rostering |
| Shift records | Clock-in with a location check, progress notes at the shift | Worker app with GPS clock-in and notes |
| Pay | SCHADS penalties and allowances worked out for you, export to payroll | SCHADS social and community services rates, Xero, Employment Hero, QuickBooks |
| Invoicing | Right support item for the day and time, checked against the price limit | Invoices from completed shifts at the NDIS price limits |
| Claiming | A bulk payment request file that passes the NDIA format first time | Validated bulk upload file for the myplace provider portal |
| Compliance | Incidents, worker screening, documents and audit trail | Incident register with reportable flags, document and screening check expiry tracking |
How NDIS software is priced in Australia
Providers pay for NDIS software in three ways, and the cheapest model depends on your ratio of staff to participants. These are the published prices on each vendor’s pricing page, checked on 23 October 2026.
| Product | Charges | Published price | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rostery | Flat, by active participants | $199, $499 or $999 a month excl. GST | None |
| ShiftCare | Per user (every login) | $8 to $20 per user a month on annual billing, $9 to $25 monthly, excl. GST | 5 users |
| Brevity | Per client | $4.49 to $6.49 per client a month on annual billing, $4.99 to $6.99 monthly, excl. GST | 10 clients |
| Astalty | Per user | $64 per office user and $30 per support worker a month, incl. GST | None |
| CareMaster | Per user, plus add-ons | $16 to $36 per user a month, SCHADS award interpretation $155 a month extra | 5 users, 12-month licence |
| SupportAbility | Annual, by staff bracket | Not published | 30 staff |
| Lumary | By quote | Not published | Not published |
Per-user pricing grows with every support worker who logs in; per-client pricing grows with your participants; a flat price grows only when you move up a size band. Built for the NDIS rules, not adapted to them
Generic rostering tools do not know that a weekday shift running past 8 pm is claimed at the evening rate, that a casual’s Saturday is 175% of the base rate, or that a short-notice cancellation needs its own claim type. Rostery is built on the NDIS Pricing Schedule and the SCHADS Award, so those rules are applied for you. The same team publishes the free NDIS Price Guide, SCHADS pay rates and the rest of its 27 free tools for NDIS providers.

Questions people ask
What is NDIS software?
NDIS software runs the day-to-day work of a disability provider: rostering workers to participants, recording what was delivered, paying staff under the SCHADS Award, invoicing at the right NDIS support item and price limit, and claiming from the NDIA or the plan manager. Good NDIS software also keeps the compliance records an auditor will ask for, such as incidents, worker screening checks and progress notes.
What is the best NDIS software for providers in Australia?
It depends on your size and what you deliver. Sole traders need simple invoicing and notes; a provider with 20 or more workers needs rostering, award interpretation and bulk claiming; SIL providers need roster of care and weekly SIL claims. Compare how each product charges (per user, per client or a flat fee) against your own numbers. Our comparison of nine NDIS rostering products, with prices checked on each vendor’s site, is linked on this page.
How much does NDIS software cost?
Prices checked on 23 October 2026 range from about $45 a month for the smallest per-client plan to several hundred dollars a month for a provider with 20 workers on a per-user plan. Rostery charges a flat monthly price by the number of active participants: $199 a month for up to 25 participants, $499 for up to 75 and $999 for up to 200, excluding GST, with unlimited staff on the Growth plan and above.
Does Rostery submit claims to the NDIA?
Rostery builds the NDIA bulk payment request file from your invoices and checks every line before it writes the file. You upload that file in the myplace provider portal. Rostery does not lodge claims with the NDIA for you. Invoices for plan-managed participants go to their plan manager.
Does Rostery calculate SCHADS pay?
Yes. Approved timesheets are priced against the SCHADS Award social and community services rates in force on the shift date, with weekend, public holiday, evening and night penalties, casual loading and allowances such as sleepovers and broken shifts. Hours can be sent to Xero, Employment Hero or QuickBooks for payroll.
Is there a free trial?
No. Rostery is set up with each provider, so every account starts with a demo on your own roster. There are no lock-in contracts and you can cancel any time. The free NDIS tools on this site, such as the price guide, shift calculator and invoice generator, need no account.
