- n/s Not stated: the pay guide does not tabulate a casual Sunday overtime rate.
- Full-time SACS employees who are not doing disability services work get 150% for the first 3 overtime hours, not 2 (cl 28.1(a)(ii)).
- Weekend and public holiday rates replace the afternoon and night loadings. Overtime replaces shift and weekend rates.
Allowances from 1 July 2026
Rates from 1 July 2026
Minimum rates apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2026. Disability home care rates are due to change: the 2026 Annual Wage Review decision ([2026] FWCFB 3500) sets a work value increase and a new classification structure for disability home care workers, to be implemented by 1 October 2027. The amounts and dates are not in the award yet. We will update this tool when the award is varied.
Reading the SCHADS rates
The SCHADS Award has two pay tables. Social and community services (SACS) covers most community and disability services work, including NDIS support work, across eight levels with pay points in each. Home care covers care in a person’s own home, with separate disability (Schedule E) and aged care (Schedule F) levels.
Every rate here is the Fair Work Ombudsman’s published figure. The pay guide rounds the hourly rate to the cent, then works each penalty as a percentage of that rounded rate, also to the cent. Casual rates include the 25% loading, which is added on top of the weekend, public holiday and shift percentages rather than multiplied.
Things to know
- Weekend and public holiday rates replace the afternoon and night shift loadings.
- Overtime replaces the shift and weekend rates. For full-time SACS work that is not disability services, the first 3 overtime hours are at 150%.
- The sleepover allowance is $62.87 a night and the broken shift allowance $21.81 or $28.87.
To price a shift, use the SCHADS Pay Rate Calculator. Rostery keeps these rates current and applies them to every timesheet.

Questions people ask
What is the SCHADS Level 2 pay rate from 1 July 2026?
SACS Level 2, pay point 1 is $36.22 an hour ($1,376.49 a week) for full-time and part-time employees, and $45.28 an hour for casuals, from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2026.
What is the lowest and highest SACS rate?
Level 1, pay point 1 is $27.55 an hour and Level 8, pay point 3 is $71.19 an hour, for full-time and part-time employees.
Why are the SACS rates higher than the award base rates?
From level 2 up, the SACS rates include the Equal Remuneration Order. Clause 15 says the “current” hourly and weekly wages in the ERO table are the ordinary rates of pay for all purposes, so they are the minimums to pay. Level 1 has no ERO.
How much did SCHADS rates go up in 2026?
The Fair Work Commission’s Annual Wage Review decision ([2026] FWCFB 3500) raised modern award rates by 4.75% from 1 July 2026. Separately, disability home care rates are due to get a work value increase with a new classification structure by 1 October 2027; those amounts are not in the award yet.
Are these rates the same in every state?
Yes, the award is national. The pay guide notes that some Queensland employers that are not constitutional corporations have transitional ERO arrangements, and those rates are not in the guide.
