When each nursing rate applies

Nursing supports have their own time-of-day definitions in the 2026-27 Pricing Schedule, and they changed this year. A visit that starts after noon and runs past 6 pm is an evening visit for a nurse, even though the same hours would be daytime for a support worker.

Questions people ask

What are the NDIS nursing rates for 2026-27?

On a weekday daytime: enrolled nurse $103.44, registered nurse $128.05, clinical nurse $148.13, clinical nurse consultant $175.18, nurse practitioner $183.15 an hour nationally. Evening, night, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday rates are higher, and remote and very remote limits are 40% and 50% higher.

What is the NDIS registered nurse hourly rate?

$128.05 an hour on a weekday daytime, $141.27 weekday evening, $143.90 weekday night, $182.75 Saturday, $210.09 Sunday and $237.43 on a public holiday, for 2026-27.

Are NDIS nursing time-of-day rules different from other supports?

Yes. For nursing, weekday daytime ends at 6 pm instead of 8 pm, a support that starts after 12 noon and finishes after 6 pm is a weekday evening support, and a weekday night support starts on or after 6 pm and finishes before 7:30 am. Weekend and public holiday rules are the same as for other supports.

Why are there two item numbers for each nursing support?

Each nursing support is listed in Core (item numbers starting 01_) and in Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living (starting 15_), at the same price. The first two digits decide which budget the claim is paid from.
