What changed for therapy in 2026-27
6 professions have a new price limit and the rest are unchanged. The bigger change is the item numbers. Each therapy support now has six: the session, telehealth (_TH), non-face-to-face (_NF), NDIA requested reports (_RR), short-notice cancellation (_CA) and provider travel (_PT). Travel is half the hourly price and the other five equal it. In 2025-26 all of these were claimed on one number with a claim type.

Which budget pays
- Therapy numbers starting 15_ come from Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living Skills, and dietetics and exercise physiology also have 12_ numbers in Improved Health and Wellbeing.
- Numbers starting 01_ are the same therapy, priced the same, temporarily duplicated into the Core budget so participants can use Core funds if they need to.
- Early childhood (ECI) numbers are in registration group 0118, and employment numbers starting 10_ come from Finding and Keeping a Job.
Remote and very remote
Every therapy price limit is 40% higher where the support is delivered in a remote area (Modified Monash 6) and 50% higher in a very remote area (MM 7). A $193.99 session becomes $271.59 remote and $290.99 very remote.
The claiming conditions (travel limits, two clear business days for cancellations, what non-face-to-face work can be charged) still come from the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025-26 until the NDIA publishes guidance for 2026-27. Search any other support in the NDIS Price Guide, or work out a claim with the travel and cancellation calculators.

Why does each therapy now have six item numbers?
The NDIA split each therapy support into separate numbers for the session, telehealth, non-face-to-face work, NDIA requested reports, short-notice cancellations and provider travel. The Annual Pricing Review recommended separate items for therapy travel and non-face-to-face work. Travel is priced at half the hourly rate; the other five are the same.
Is therapy travel paid at the full hourly rate?
No. Since 1 July 2025 therapy travel time is claimed at 50% of the price limit, and from 2026-27 it has its own item number ending _PT. The 30-minute (MM 1 to 3) and 60-minute (MM 4 to 5) travel limits still apply, with no limit in remote areas.
Do NDIS therapy price limits apply to self-managed participants?
No. The price limits apply to NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants. A self-managed participant can agree a different price with their therapist.
