AI Assistant for NDIS Providers (MCP)

Connect ChatGPT or another AI assistant to Rostery to ask about your roster, participants and incidents, and to manage shifts if you allow it.

  • Ask in plain English
  • Manage shifts if allowed
  • Scheduler rules still apply
  • No money data

Questions you'd rather just ask

Each of these is a few screens in any system.

Vacant shifts

What's still open this weekend.

A participant

Their goals, medications and recent notes.

Incidents

What happened last week.

Cover

Who could take a shift.

Copying weeks

Rolling the roster forward.

Bulk changes

Moving or publishing a set of shifts.

Sometimes the fastest way to an answer is to ask: which shifts are still vacant this weekend, what happened in last week's incidents, who's free to cover Saturday. Connecting ChatGPT or another AI assistant to Rostery lets you ask in plain English.

How the AI assistant connection works

On the Scale plan and above, an administrator opens Settings, then AI & Automation, switches on the connection and copies Rostery's server address into ChatGPT or another AI assistant as a connector. You then sign in to Rostery and approve the access. Read tools let the assistant see your dashboard, participants and their details, shifts and vacant shifts, service types, staff, incidents and progress notes. Money, payroll, timesheets, invoices and settings are never available.

If an administrator allows writing, the assistant can also create, edit, assign, cancel, restore, delete, copy and bulk-change shifts, through the same scheduler rules as the web app, so clashes and funding checks still apply. Read tools run on a read-only connection limited to your organisation. Access tokens last an hour and refresh tokens 30 days, and revoking the connection in Settings ends it immediately.

How the connection works

1

Read tools

Dashboard, participants and details, shifts and vacant shifts, service types, staff, incidents and progress notes.

2

Shift tools, if allowed

Create, edit, assign, cancel, restore, delete, copy and bulk-change shifts, through the real scheduler rules.

3

Kept to your organisation

Read tools use a read-only connection limited to your organisation. Money, payroll and settings are never shared.

4

Signed-in access

You approve the connection by signing in to Rostery, and can revoke it any time.

Who uses it

Rostering coordinators

Ask what's open and fill it.

Managers

Get quick answers about participants and incidents.
